It is important that each of us devise a self improvement plan. Why? Because life is too precious to settle for mediocrity. We must all strive to be the best person we can be.

Before you can successfully accomplish a self improvement plan, you must take a serious look at yourself and ponder upon the things and aspects of your life that you need to change.

Self awareness may seem like a very easy task, but actually it is far from being easy. Coming up with an honest, comprehensive and realistic assessment of yourself requires a great deal of time spent on meditation and reflection, honesty and a courageous spirit.

You will need to evaluate your strengths and weaknesses as honestly and openly as possible. And then assess which can and cannot be changed.

Step 1. Know about yourself on a deeper level.

Again, self awareness is key.

Step 2. Be willing to work to change those aspects of yourself that you think needs improvement.

Before you start out with your self improvement venture, make sure that you have found the dedication in you to work hard on things that need to be changed.

Step 3. Be willing to learn new things every now and then.

If you want to be a better person, you need to step out of the box and do new things every now and then. This way, you will have greater opportunities of discovering untapped talents or abilities.

Step 4. Wake up early.

This may be tough for the night owls, but this has been acknowledged by many to improve productivity and quality of life. This can be one of the best ways to get in tune with yourself before the chaos hits.

Step 5. Have a weekly exercise routine.

This will not only improve your physical appearance but also your mood and general well-being.

Step 6. Make a list of the things you want to do, your purpose, your values and goals.

Having some sort of journal of all these things will keep you reminded of who you are as a person—what your goals, values an principles are.

Step 7. Organize your life.

It isn’t hard to understand that if you want to improve your life, you must start by keeping things sorted out.

Step 8. Ask for feedback.

No matter how much self evaluation we do, there will always be things that we won’t be able to see in ourselves. Asking for feedback from people that know you most will help you discover important things about yourself.

Step 9. Avoid negative people.

Wherever we may be, we are bound to meet negative people. Don’t spend too much of your time being around these kind of people as they hve the tendency to drag you down.

Step 10. Practice meditation.

Meditation helps to calm you and be more conscious. Spend at least 30 minutes a day in meditation.

Self improvement is a long and arduous process that is geared towards the attainment of maximum potentials. It is a process that involves a constant refining of strengths and minimizing of weaknesses. I hope that our simple self improvement plan above will help you be the best person you can be.
