7 Traits That Boost Self Confidence

The process to boost self confidence can be a long and difficult one—it requires a lot of work, a lot of changes, a great deal of will power and dedication. It’s a personal commitment to change the way you see yourself to be more confident.

Given that you are on this page, you have already made the first step towards a better and happier you.

It is important to have enough self confidence; as this plays a huge part in how happy we are in life and how successful we become. If you have been thinking all along that confidence is a fruit of success, you are wrong. Instead, success is a fruit of confidence.

If you have noticed, confident people tend to attract positive things in their lives—a fulfilling career, a good-looking partner, a happy family and amazing friends. Although self confidence alone will not bring you these things, you will have a higher chance at leading a positive and fulfilling life if you have it.

7 Self Confidence Boosting Traits

1. Optimism.

Try to be positive at all times. Think as if there is nothing you cannot do. When you hear yourself saying you can’t do something, stop and say you can. Always think positive about each situation that you are in. Always have a can do attitude.

2. Self-trust.

Believe in your ability to achieve whatever you set your mind to accomplish. When you believe that you’re capable of attaining your goals, you unleash the ability to do so from deep within you.

3. Self-love.

Love who you are. Do not despise yourself because of your flaws or weaknesses. Instead, look at yourself and see the good in you—your admirable traits and unique talents. A lot of people fail to love themselves because they use other people as a measuring stick; hence they always come short. If you don’t love yourself, people will likely do the same.

4. Responsibility.

Take ownership of your life. Accept responsibility for all your actions—accomplishments and failures alike. Once you start being entirely responsible for your life, the more self-confidence and freedom you will experience.

5. Flexibility.

Learn to accept the fact that change is a normal part of life—things will change and people will change. If you don’t roll with the punches, you will be left feeling desolate and deserted.

6. Sharpness.

Appearance is so powerful in boosting one’s self confidence. So, inasmuch as you work on your characteristics, also give some attention to your physical appearance. Work on your looks—dress presentably, style your hair appropriately and smell good. Do this, and you will see you’re you will feel better and people will treat you better.

7. Self-expression.

You have the right to express your thoughts and feelings. Make use of this right. Your self confidence can increase significantly if you permit yourself to freely think and feel and express these thoughts and feelings outwardly.

Your life is always filled with choices. You may continue complaining about your low self esteem or you take the route to change. Remember that you will never be truly happy unless you are happy with who you are as a person. Start working on your confidence levels one baby step at a time, and you will see how your life would be better as time passes.

I hope the things I have shared above will help you successfully boost your self confidence.
