Remove yourself from the stressful situation.

You may think its counter-productive to turn away from something that is causing you stress, but studies have shown that removing yourself from a stressful situation can actually help you better deal with it. Instead of facing the situation head on feeling agitated and irrational, take the time to step away from it momentarily and give yourself a chance to calm down and think things over.

Share your worries with family or friends.

Talking to your friends or family can help because it gives you a chance to express your feelings. As you know, being able to express yourself is very relieving. So when When too much stress has piled up, take the time to call your friend or your sister and vent. Aside from giving you the chance to express yourself, sincere and supportive friends and family can also help you gain a clearer perspective on things.

Exercise can go a long way toward eliminating stress. Exercise does not only serve as a healthy outlet for negative energy and a distraction from stressful thoughts; it also promotes the release of your bodys natural happy hormones called endorphins.

So with exercise, you should experience the uplifting qualities that physical exercise promotes. So do not make stress an excuse for skipping your exercise routine. Rather, make stress your reason to exercise. Set aside 15 to 30 minutes each day doing physical activity that you enjoy.

Avoid self-medication or drug induced escape.

A lot of people opt to relieve their stress through alcohol and the use of medications. Although doing these can help temporarily take away the negative emotions brought about by stress, they are not able to help you resolve whatever it is that is causing you stress and can even have negative effects to your health.

As much as possible, manage the stress in your life naturally without resorting to drugs and other potentially harmful elements that only provide temporary relief.

Although it is not possible to avoid stress totally, we can learn to meet it efficiently and live with it successfully. Excessive, unmanaged stress can affect every aspect of your life, jeopardizing your physical well-being, your psychological health, your behavior, and your performance at work.
